Silk on Saturday

Last Satuday, Sarah and I had fun at the Avon Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers, where our Chairman, Joan Bowie, taught us how to make vessels from silk fibre. The rather odd "flowers" above are our vessels, drying on garden sticks in the sunshine. It's always fun to play, and an interesting technique that deserves to be returned to in the future.

Aren't those the most wonderful creations! I am in awe at so much craftmanship and creativity. Simply wonderful!

P.S.:
I spent more hours at the Alpine Gardens this morning. Flowers galore, I had a hard time tearing myself away from all that glory. This was the first sunny morning after three days of heavy spring rains, so imagine the paradise out there.

Love your pixs of silk fibre and all your other yummy textile bits.

Isn't blogging great - once you get the hang of it!

Sue - thanks for the wonderful compliment about my felt - I'm flattered by the comparison to Theresa, but don't think it justified now I have seen her website! I love your silk fibre works, they have textures one can almost feel from here. Sue
